This piece was inspired by seeing an Irish Hare scampering about the countryside each year. It also refers to the story of the chased hare escaping into a fissure in a rock, then turning into a woman.
BEN DEARNLEY is a sculptor in stone, slate and the finest marble from Carrara, Italy. He loves to combine stone with stained and hand-painted glass, particularly focusing on the human figure.
He has created many large-scale public sculptures and exhibited his work around the world, including in prestigious locations such as Salisbury Cathedral and Trafalgar Square, England. His work is collected around the world.
